That's a wrap!

First, THANK YOU to everyone who showed up and made a pledge to support Hockey Hardware on Kickstarter. Katherine and I are tremendously grateful for your support - it means the world to us.

Second, thank you to everyone who helped raise the profile of Hockey Hardware before and during this crowdfunding campaign. Every conversation you had with family and friends, every shared social media post, every poster hung up, and every promo card handed out, helped this new game get noticed!

Unfortunately, despite all of our hard work, Hockey Hardware fell short of its all-or-nothing funding goal by its deadline today at 7pm ET. That means if you pledged, you'll be getting your pledge back from Kickstarter. It also means despite raising $35,373 in pledges from 182 incredible backers, Hockey Hardware will receive zero funds, and we must find another way forward to fund the creation of this fun, new game.

The good news: The promotion of this campaign was a tremendous success, and thousands of people now know about Hockey Hardware because of our hard work.

Over the past 32 days, Hockey Hardware was front page news in The Niagara-On-The-Lake (NOTL) Local, it was published in The Niagara Independent, it was featured on an Apple Podcast by Grimmsteel Games called 'Should I Play It?', it was showcased on YourTV Niagara, and it aired on Ottawa's TSN 1200 radio. Hockey Hardware's social media channels have also seen strong growth, especially on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

On top of this great exposure, Hockey Hardware was introduced to some of the biggest names in the hockey industry at The Carnegie Initiative Summit 2024 and during the 2024 NHL All-Star festivities in Toronto.

And perhaps best of all: Throughout this campaign, we have been able to firmly establish there is strong support for Hockey Hardware and genuine interest and excitement to bring this fun, new game to life.

So what's next?

Katherine and I are going to take a moment to catch our breath. Then, we are going to review this campaign and debrief. It was our first-ever Kickstarter campaign, and we took a lot of valuable lessons away from it.

We are also going to carefully review and consider all of our options to move Hockey Hardware forward. This includes making adjustments to this campaign, and possibly relaunching Hockey Hardware on Kickstarter in the not-too-distant future, or taking a different route entirely.

One thing is certain: We are determined and committed to bring Hockey Hardware to life!

Please stay tuned for updates by subscribing to THE FACE-OFF FLYER to find out what's next for Hockey Hardware. This is the free e-newsletter provided by FACE-OFF GAMES for everything related to Hockey Hardware. We look forward to providing an update in the next few weeks.

Thanks again for being a part of our first-ever Kickstarter campaign. We hope to count on your continued support for Hockey Hardware in the future!

Best wishes,

Billy & Katherine
